"I stopped by their new dispensary for a couple of grams of blue dream kief."

    What new dispensary?

    Farscape (Wednesday, 04 August 2010 21:38)

This month's sampler consisted of Blue Dream, Strawberry Cough, Lamb's Breath, and (not a new one) OG Kush. The OG Kush was so good the last time around it deserved an encore.

Lamb's Breath was appropriately named. I'm not sure exactly what a lamb's breath smells like but I imagine it's not good. The smoke's flavor is nice and mellow and easy on the taste buds despite the aroma. The medicinal effects are pleasant, uplifting, and relaxing while still having your wits about you. This strain takes you slowly and gently than let's you off easy.

Strawberry Cough lives up to it's name. Very berry flavorful and a great light headed sativa effect that doesn't leave you crashing and burning with a bellyful of junk food. This would be my last choice if working up an appetite is needed for your medical condition.

Blue Dream is by far my favorite this month. As an added bonus and also to take pain killing to a higher level, I stopped by their new dispensary for a couple of grams of blue dream kief. The two together were a combination that is seldom matched. Be prepared before you sit down with this, once you start you wont be getting up for quite a while.

Thanks for another great visit HH.

4 gram 1/8th's for patients of top shelf, perfectly grown and cured meds is a great thing at HH. At 12.50 a gram, did I time warp myself back to 1980's pricing? The difference now is that the meds are so much better than anything grown back in the day.

My personal 4 gram sample pack this week consisted of OG Kush, Purple Shark, Hawaiian Haze, and The Flav. I now personally know the reason OG Kush is the rock star of the mmj world. I've tried many types of "kush" but HH's strain they have in now is what the others all wished they could be. If you're into late night relaxation or don't need to be anywhere for several hours, this will punch that ticket.

Hawaiian Haze. All I can say is the psycho active effects were so strong that it brought back memories of what it was like when I first tried kind out of Humboldt county back when Motley Crue was still playing the SoCal club scene.

Purple Shark and The Flav. Both were very nice and if I didn't have the other two to compare against would get an above average rating. The Flav beating purple shark on (of course) flavor. These two will be on the bench for the next couple of weeks while I keep going back to a nightly salad of OG Kush and Hawaiian Haze. Dancing with these two ladies together along with a keif topper is just one more out of what seems like hundreds of reasons why HH is my caregiver and I keep going back.

So at my last visit TK fills me in on the who, what, when, and why bubble joints came into existence. Pure genius. So much so that they have trademarked this little pillar of pleasure. I believe the one I tried was made with Ogre ( an indica strain I reviewed last month and very good by the way ). I was literally shocked at the flavor and what two drags off of one of these will do to you for the afternoon. I'm not sure how well it will hold up if you keep one to yourself by lighting and then relighting it later (I can't see how anyone no matter how strong your tolerance is could finish one of these in one sitting). Definitely have 3 to 5 friends that are patients to share this with. I'm thinking one of these would be perfect for a concert this summer at Red Rocks. Just a suggestion TK, custom strain these bubble joints and the sky's the limit literally.

The last item to talk about was a complimentary chocolate covered strawberry that I was fortunate enough to receive. I have never been a fan of edibles, usually what's strong to others has little to no effect on me. This strawberry was a bit different. I never really felt any strong effects. The best way to describe it was that it brought me to the level of what one hit of HH red dot will do, the difference being that after about a half hour of eating it that feeling stayed for about 10 hours. Smoking during this time would of course send me back up into the stratosphere but each time those effects wore off I was still right back where I was when the strawberry first started taking effect. Strangely, there was still residual effects for about the first hour of the next morning. Kudo's to the maker of those chocolate covered strawberries. Not enough by itself for me, but what a great way to extend the day.

I can't say enough about the folks at HH. The most critical I could possibly be of them is I may have gotten a big piece of lumber one time out of all the many times I've been there and that was well hidden inside a large nugget so I can't blame the tender. The green is always perfectly cured, trimmed, and packed full of crystals, and finding a seed is unheard of. I've come at all different times of the day and never had to wait. The location is also discreet and professional.
And as a bonus, once in a while they will throw a sample of something that's new to me my way. There's been many times I've thought to go and see what else is going on at different Denver dispensaries, but that's just not going to happen as long as they keep getting better at what they're already doing. HH's products and service is on par with any operation from Amsterdam to California.

After dropping a few bones at Highland, I have come to the conclusion that all of the times that I have been there, They have never done me wrong. The quality is superb and the people are great. I did some looking around and I always find myself coming back to HH.

    Farscape (Saturday, 24 April 2010 18:35)

My 420 4.2g 1/8th consisted of a nice sampling of Mango, Ogre, Sour Diesel, and Blackjack. I wanted to try the great white shark but all they had left was a little shake so I passed. Definitely on my list to try Sgt. Stedenko.

The ogre had nice compact nuggets but other than that it was average as was the sour diesel. I know that HH has spoiled me, but there can be some extreme differences in potency just among the red dots.

Mango was just an all around extreme pleasure from beginning to end. This late night indica is easy on the pallete, taste great to the bottom of the bowl, and is one of the best all around pain killers I've come across. Mango has just beat out Alien Goo in my list of top indicas from HH.

Blackjack...who knows what this is? My budtender wasn't sure but highly recommended it and so I went with it. I'm glad I did!! Outstanding pain relief with a euphoria that I don't often find except in good hash. How many daily kind medicaters out there ever come across a strain that plasters a genuine smile on your face for an hour? My guess is not often however this blackjack did just this for me. You might want to sample a gram while you can.

    The Bratboy (Monday, 12 April 2010 17:07)

Well today was my first visit. Was very pleasent. Picked up a few things to try, including some of the "Purple Erkil" I'd heard a lot about So far I've only sampled one so far. Tested a bit of "Gravity" in my New Icredibowl just as soon as I got home. OMG, get some while it lasts!

Kudos for the fact that their limiting the amount ppl can purchase due to limited supply so more can sample it. Sure hope it becomes a regular.

All in all was a good experience and will gladly be going back SOON!

Chem Dawg - Absolutely outstanding!! Tastes great, puts your head in the clouds while keeping your body pain free. Thanks for your recommendation on this one TK. This strain is up there close in quality, taste, and medicinal effects to that amazing chocolope you had a couple of months ago.

Rainbow Kief - I've been at odds with this for a few days now. It is definitely smooth with no harsh flavors or aftertaste. The dilemma is that each time I've sampled it was on top of Chem Dawg. The jury is still out, Chem Dawg with or without Kief was amazing. The only noticeable difference with the Kief was the effects seemed to be much more on the cerebral side with amplification of auditory stimulus.

The $10 classic J - If you love a surprise, pick one of these up! You never know what you're going to get, but of the last 5 or 6 I've sampled, each one has been absolutely outstanding in quality and potency. Sometimes there is a bit to be desired on flavor, but for the value, no complaints here. This has become a mandatory purchase now for each visit. Thanks again goes to TK for giving me that first complimentary sample a few months ago. I went from skeptic and never would purchase to I can't leave without one.

    Till next time............

Pineapple Express - Mild flavor, uplifting cerebral effects, it's a decent med but I've had much better from Highland. The namesake of the movie was the motivator to trying this strain.

Purple Erkle - So many crystals, it looks like someone went crazy with a salt shaker. This is actually a fantastic pain killer without the side effects of wanting to lay down and drift away into a deep slumber. One effect I haven't experienced in a long time was crystal clear vision with brighter than bright colors and bionic hearing. Fantastic Strain Highland!!!

Full melt headband bubble hash - I suppose hash just isn't for me. The effects are good but I couldn't get past the chemical flavor and really enjoy it. Pretty much any Highland red dot would have tasted better and delivered the relief I was seeking. The price was outstanding though so no complaints there. Most dispensaries charge 25 a half gram and highland was letting this go at 30 a gram.

Visiting Highland Health is always a pleasure. The bud tenders are great, don't rush you, no pressure, and do have opinions on most all strains carried. It's nice to be able to chat with the owner as well.

Thanks Highland. I look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.

golden train - hits you hard and fast, two hours later it lets you down nice and gently, no crashing.

purple kush rocket - 4 hit cure for insomnia.

chocolope - OMG! tastes like a great winter coffee drink with eggnog and lots of nutmeg. If you ever get a chance to pick some of this up, you wont regret it. Crystal clear headed pain relief. 2 hits for a seasoned patient is all it takes with this.

  • #48

    Farscape (Wednesday, 30 December 2009 07:22)

I picked up 3 different meds a couple of weeks ago. Aien Goo, Trainwreck, and Purple Kush. Alien Goo is an insomniacs dream come true, no matter how hard you try you will find yourself drifting off into a peaceful pain free sleep in no time. Trainwreck....at first I was a bit skeptical and thought maybe it was labeled wrong. By the end of the first bud I could see why it got it's name. Best clear headed relief I've had in years. Makes a great salad with Alien Goo for an evening on the couch feeling no pain. Purple Kush was an underrated blue dot. It had a fantastic overall medicinal effect with an amazing flavor.

The staff and owner are great, caring, professional folks and run a top notch dispensary. Thanks guys!

Looking forward to trying out the cones and granola bar this weekend.

    Till next time........

The Blueberry is absolutely fabulous. Nice, slow, mellow high with incredible pain relief. Anxiety just drifts away - my brain can't hold on to an obsessive thought.

    Great for watching Sci-fi too!

The tinctures are perfect to use right before Physical Therapy. Mitigates the pain and makes it easier to do what I gotta do to rehab!

Thanks so much Highland for all your help for a new patient. You never made me feel silly or dumb! Your bud tenders are the best!

Alien Goo - fast acting, mellow, great for pain. Very dense.
Trainwreck - I expected a little more from it by itself, but a great mix with alien goo as a salad in the early afternoon.
Purple Kush - For being a blue dot, it blew me away. Great flavor, mild smoke, and instant pain relief. Looks like it's already off the menu.

    Outstanding service...Thanks HH!
